We want everyone to be able to leave their love on the Wall — whatever way they use the internet.
We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
By our own testing the site largely meets these requirements. “Largely” is deliberate: we tested automatically and by sampling, but have not commissioned an external audit.
Automated testing with axe across 31 pages in several languages — no violations.
Keyboard-only operation, a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link on every page.
Colour contrast to WCAG AA.
Respect for the “reduce motion” system setting: animations are toned down accordingly.
Layout in all 22 languages on a phone screen, including Arabic and Hebrew right-to-left.
The heart wall on the home page is a drawn canvas and cannot be read meaningfully by a screen reader. The same Love Marks can be browsed as a list via “Explore the Wall” — that route is fully operable.
The Love Reel is a video without speech; it carries music and on-screen text. There are no captions because nothing is spoken. Everything the video states also appears as text on the Love Mark page.
The payment page is provided by our payment processor Stripe. We have no influence on its accessibility.
